Community Reflections on Brother Malcolm X

Please join us Friday, February 22nd to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the martyrdom of El Hajj Malik Shabazz, Brother Malcolm X.

If Brother Malcolm were alive today, he would have been 94 years old. The life and legacy of this legend speaks for itself and his cry for equality and justice in the US and around the world has yet to be fulfilled. We will be coming together to share reflections on the life and ideas of this great man, who refused to ignore the plight of the disenfranchised and marginalized people of our world. Especially during this difficult time for our diverse communities in the borderlands, issues of race, religion, and economic inequality demand that we reflect upon Brother Malcolm's life and legacy.

On November 15th, 2018, we will honor the incredible work of San Diego’s inspiring women who are shaking things up, driving the progressive agenda forward, often unrecognized, and leading us to a brighter future. We hope you will join us at our 2nd Annual Women Who Change the Game awards celebration, presented by Flip the Script.

The annual event is seated, plated luncheon and awards banquet to honor the women driving the progressive movement in San Diego. This banquet gathers the individuals and organizations who support the women of the progressive movement to celebrate their achievements and collective power.

Flip the Script is a new podcast hosted by Nicole Capretz of Climate Action Campaign (CAC) and Ismahan Abdullahi of the Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans (PANA). Nicole and Ismahan engage in conversations with cutting-edge thought leaders and agents of change who share their ideas for how we can move forward as an inclusive, progressive, and equitable San Diego.
