Welcome to the Future of Community
The Refugee & Immigrant Cultural Hub is a first-of-its-kind campus building power, belonging, and generational wealth.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 510 individuals who joined to celebrate the unveiling of the final design for the Refugee and Immigrant Cultural Hub and Housing Campus. This event marked the culmination of a year-long participatory visioning process to co-create a future where belonging, connection, and cultural vibrancy thrive.
“Together we are building a first-of-its kind refuge of housing and services that honors our culture. To build a better future for the next generation, we have to start today,” Ramla Sahid, PANA’s executive director said.
We gathered at the RICH site with community members who contributed to our year-long visioning process, alongside local leaders and supporters, including San Diego City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera and Chikako Terada and Brandon Martella of Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects, the project's designers. You can read more press coverage about the unveiling event here.
RICH will feature a Global Village Market, 150+ affordable housing units, and a shared Nonprofit Hub— this project embodies our collective right to belong, to be heard, and to shape our future in a community-owned, culturally vibrant space. Ahead of International Human Rights Day, it was incredibly meaningful to reflect on and celebrate the results of our community's input and vision.
We’re excited to share a few highlights, including video reel recorded by one of our youth, as well as some media coverage from the Union Tribune, NBC7, and 10 News.
We thank everyone who entrusted us with their ideas, hopes, and dreams, as well as the friends supporting us on this journey to turn a long-held community vision into reality. With your support, this work becomes possible. Join us to learn more about how you can get involved and donate to RICH.
