Viveka Ray-Mazumder

Viveka is PANA’s Associate Director of Inclusive Democracy. In this role, Viveka advances PANA’s mission by leading the organization’s state and local voting rights and language access campaigns.

Viveka has spent the last fifteen years advocating for the rights of immigrants, refugees, and displaced people. Prior to working at PANA, Viveka served as the Manager of Youth Organizing at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, building and running campaigns to protect the rights of immigrant and refugee youth and families. Vivekawas also a founding Collective Member of Chicago Desi Youth Rising, a Collective Member of the Transformative Justice Law Project of Illinois, and a member of Invisible 2 Invincible: Asian Pacific Islander Pride of Chicago’s leadership team. Most recently, Viveka worked as a Law Fellow at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles in the Eviction Defense Center.

Viveka was born in India and raised by immigrant parents who passed on their commitment to justice and love for community. Viveka holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in Gender Studies from Middlebury College and a JD from LMU – Loyola Law School.
